4 Easy Ways To Improve Your Blog

Looking for ways to improve your blog? If you've been blogging for any amount of time, you might eventually start feeling as if your blog is getting stale. Or if you're just getting started with your blog, especially if you plan to use it for small business marketing, you might be looking for ways to position your blog as professionally as possible. Here are 4 quick and easy ways you can improve an existing blog or get a brand new blog off to the best start possible.*** Improve Your Blog with Proper GrammarWe have a client who is extremely intelligent; in fact, she has a doctorate degree. But when she'd submit articles for us to post at her blog, they were.. well, let's just say they sounded like they were written by an 8-year-old. The grammar Rosetta Stone
was atrocious, the sentence structure was sloppy, and the flow was confusing. My immediate reaction was that she had run a bunch of articles through one of those software spinning services - you know, the ones that take one article and readjust the sentences and paragraphs to create a dozen new articles. The new articles always sound terrible, as if they were written by a robot. (I guess they actually are written by a robot.)Assuming she didn't have time to write her posts, we offered to take over the writing tasks for her. And after about 6 weeks of us writing her blog posts, she called me and said she finally gets it.Turns out she HAD been the one who was writing those original posts. She kept hearing how you're supposed to "write as you speak" and "write in a natural tone" so she intentionally dumbed down her writing abilities. But the side effect was that she totally dumbed down her reputation as well. It's true that you want your blog posts to sound natural and conversational, but you also want to position yourself as the expert in your field. It's hard to be seen as the expert when you can't string together 4 grammatically correct sentences Rosetta Stone Arabic
in a row.It is possible to write in a conversational tone and still be professional. You can use grammatically correct sentences and still create a relationship with your readers. And no matter what you do, always check your spelling. Since there's no spelling in a conversation, there's never an excuse for misspelled words in your blog posts.*** Improve Your Blog by Telling Your Readers What to DoMany blogs have incredibly high bounce rates - that's the number of visitors who land on your website and leave after reading only one page. I believe the bounce rate is so high because bloggers don't offer a natural progression through the website.Think about what you want your reader to do after she reads your post - and then tell her what you want her to do. Do you want her to read another article? Then offer a link to it. Do you want her to download a free report that coincides with the topic of your article? Include the subscription form at the end of the post. Do you want her to check out a product or service that you offer? Explain to her what it has to do with the information she just read, then link to it from the current post. You've worked hard to get visitors to Rosetta Stone Chinese
read your blog posts. Don't let them get away so easily.*** Improve Your Blog with Other Types of ContentSure, the main reason for your blog is to present your articles and writings. But today's blogging platforms are powerful - and today's readers have really short attention spans. So why not mix in some graphics and multimedia with those plain text blog posts?I've visited lots of blogs that are just really hard to look at. They don't have any images or graphics for the readers to rest their eyes on; they don't have headlines to make the content easy to scan; they don't use bullet points or numbered lists or take advantage of whitespace. So the first step is, you want to make sure your text posts are easy to read. But why not take that a step further? In addition to images and bullet points and headlines, why not mix in some audio? And video? And multimedia presentations? If you're a bit technophobic, you can start small by simply embedding Rosetta Stone
a YouTube video. Then move on to creating your own audio podcasts. Then add in some of your own video. And the next thing you know, you'll be a multimedia star. And all those web visitors with those short attention spans will be coming back for more on a regular basis.*** Improve Your Blog by Inviting Guest BloggersInevitably, there will come a day when you just can't think of anything to write about. Or maybe you've been such a successful blogger that you're now busier than ever taking care of all the new clients your blog has brought in. Or maybe your readers are getting a little tired of hearing you rehash the same old content over and over again.Whatever the case, inviting guest bloggers to post content on your blog is Rosetta Stone Italian
a win-win-win situation. It gives your readers an entirely fresh perspective on the topic. It allows bloggers to reach a brand new audience. And it gives you a little break from writing - or it frees up your time to guest post on someone else's blog.Use this tactic with caution, however. Be diligent in checking out your guest bloggers ahead of time. Take a look at their writing style. Does it match what your audience has come to expect? Is it professional and are their articles well-written? Even thought your name won't be on the blog post, guest articles published on your blog are still representing your business. It's worth the little bit of extra time it takes to guarantee that your business will be showcased in the best possible light.Attracting visitors to your blog and bringing readers back for more is an ongoing task that needs to be factored into your small business marketing plan. By following these 4 easy tips, you'll be well on your way to a successful, professional blog. And you're bound to attract a few incoming links along the way.Article Source:comAbout the Author:Karen Scharf, small business marketing consultant, works with small business owners and entrepreneurs. April 1,2011 Top Mediterranean Islands For 2011 Holidays - Majorca

New places to discover on a holiday is often tempting, and with cheap flights available for many destinations for many people affordable, but a recent poll shows that the traditional favourite locations are winning when it comes to a good holiday experience. The poll, conducted by Conde Rosetta Stone
Nast Traveller and reported by Opodo shows that it's not Egypt, Turkey and Morocco that people have enjoyed, but Majorca, Sicily, Capri and Ibiza - islands that have seen tourists visiting for decades now, with many returning time and again, often after trying a new location to see how it compared.A surprise to many, including perhaps the locals themselves, is that the Isle of Sky in Scotland also made it to the top ten island holiday destinations.Opodo comment that 'The largest of Scotland's Inner Hebrides group of islands, Skye is well-known for its strong cultural scene, and especially its strong folk music tradition.'Majorca has been popular for fifty years, from when jet travel allowed a large section of the population to consider a trip overseas, and holidays in Majorca have had enduring appeal ever since - but for first time visitors what can they expect to find?A surprise for many is that the island isn't just about hotels, relaxing during the day, evenings out and the beach. Majorca is rich in culture and history such as the cathedral in Palma and many of the churches, as well as museums. Many architectural ruins and buildings date back more Rosetta Stone Spanish
than a thousand years. And there's first class live music for the younger generations who visit. The Mallorca Rocks Hotel opened to great reviews earlier this year. Based in Magaluf and sister hotel to the well known Ibiza Rocks, it's live shows between the end of May and mid September will attract many visitors, and serves as one of the best hotels in Majorca for the younger generations. With 330 rooms and world class acts it's quickly establishing itself as a summer destination in its own right. The island is also good for families because of the number of amusement parks on the island. Aqualandia El Foro in Palma is a water park with mini golf and a wax museum as added attractions. Aquapark is another water park with a water castle and go-kart track that is generally enjoyed by all ages. Hydropark is a water park with a primary focus on the enjoyment of younger children. Aquacity S'Arenal is one of the largest water parks in the world. It features several water rides, a parrot show, petting zoo and mini golf. The Auto Safari is another major attraction for families, especially those with young children. The tour showcases many animals including monkeys, giraffes and zebras while the mini zoo gives an up close view of baby animals and reptiles. For those who like the beach and the Mediterranean, there are a good number of blue flag beaches - awarded to the best holiday beaches in Europe for cleanliness and facilities. One of the best is Playa de Muro, close to Arinsal, and it's easy to access by car or public transport.Another reason for the island's Rosetta Stone Spanish (Spain) Levev 1-5
enduring popularity with tourists from the UK, Germany, Ireland and other European countries is that it's not a long flight, and the price of flights to Majorca has come down in recent years, with low cost airlines operating out of regional airports cutting the cost of flights to Majorca to make it affordable for many families. As well as the traditional beach holiday, the number of people taking holidays in the island's countryside has increased, with farms and fincas often offering accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis, with some also offering evening meals and lunch too. For those who are close to the beach but want to see some of rural Majorca, a good way to see it is on the train that runs between the capital Palma and Soller. In 2011 don't be surprised if Majorca is well within the top ten for holiday destinations again!

April 1,2011 Dallas Day 3: Breakfast In Bed, Dinosaurs Unearthed, Tapas, Chocolate Empanadas

Dallas Day 3: Breakfast in Bed, Dinosaurs Unearthed, Tapas, Chocolate EmpanadasAfter a lazy morning, I got up and put together breakfast in bed for us. Id brought along cereal, blueberries, almond milk, orange juice, and cut up fruit using my pocketknife for a fruit salad. See you Rosetta Stone
can eat gourmet on the road without spending 18 bucks on a hotel buffet. Well, close to gourmet. But if youre on a budget, skipping those pricey breakfasts can really save the bank. We started out the day at the Museum of Nature Science, where they were featuring Dinosaurs Unearthed. They had a few life-sized replicas and mostly smaller scale models, but all were animatronics that were activated by motion sensors. Poorly. My feeble attempts to get them to move in time for my video were met by Kats mocking laughter. That being said, the exhibit had some pretty up-to-minute research that I, whos been obsessed with dinos since I was a pup, hadnt heard. And it was pretty dern cool to see a t-rex covered in fur. Famished from pretending to run from hairy carnivorous dinos, we set off to recharge with wine and cheese. A quick Google search of the area yielded Si Tapas, a two-bed bungalow-turned-bistro Rosetta Stone German
with good eats and a $2 happy hour menu that gave us the opportunity to splurge sin mucho dinero. And splurge we did. Creamy and tangy Alcachofas al limon (sautéed artichokes in lemon cream sauce), Esparragos verdes salteados (fresh green asparagus sautéed with Idiazabal cheese), Tortilla Espanola (Spanish potato omelette, Montaditos con Crema de Cabrales (toasted bread with mind-melting Crema de Cabrales cheese), and more. That Cabrales cheese justified the whole trip there; we could have bathed in it. The menu told us, This cheese is a treasure item in Spain. The milk comes from herbs of goats that must be raised in the reaches of Northern Spain. Farmers place the cheese in caves where the humidity is 90%. They leave them for six months to age. This blue cheese has a tangy sharp taste.April 1,2011Honestly I was surprised to read that last part; there werent many typical aspects of bleu April 1,2011no blue veins, and it wasnt sharp or moldy-tasting, despite the fact that it had its own character and appeal. Closer to a brie with hints of gorgonzola without the punch associated with that family Rosetta Stone Indian
of cheese. After some downtown ambling, we wound up the evening at Lumi, an Ikea-clad empanada emporium that was the most black shirt and Lucky jeansApril 1,2011 type of place wed yet been. Opting for dessert, we split orders of mango mousse, chocolate empanadas, and chrysanthemum flower tea.The mousse had the flavor of mango, but tasted like somebody accidentally spilled three times too much sugar into it. It was even too sweet for me, and I think thats the first time Ive ever claimed that. The tea was good, but nothing special. The empanadas, however, were perfect. Fried golden, filled with oozing dark chocolate, and drizzled with even more melted chocolate and powdered sugar; they made the trip. Three came to an order; I could have gotten two more plates worth.
